This hotels AC did NOT work in our room lept us up. This hotel does not have a pool. The AC in the bar did not work. House wine tasted awful.This hotel is NOT worth $170. If this is a four star hotel I have four noses!!

Every single staff member from the valets to the front desk and food servers provided friendly exemplary service. A Housekeeper even ran to hold the elevator for us. Lovely room, delicious food at affordable prices.

The Front desk is always so welcoming. we were in town with friends and a conference the Valet always had are care ready at 6 am for us. the food at the restaurant was great as usual along with the bar. we look forward to coming back next year.

What a gem of a hotel! A stunning historic building with beautiful rooms a really comfy beds. We had two rooms - family of 6 - everyone really enjoyed the stay. Brekky in Farmacy was delicious and great value!

The Padre is truly a diamond in the rough! Situated in the heart of the downtown Bakersfield scene it is a luxury hotel offering richly appointed rooms and lobby vistas that are an escape from the heat and south valley oil and agriculture rich landscape. No detail has been spared as the nods to the rich history of Bakersfield is woven in. The beds are welcoming and comfortable without being fussy. The en suite bathrooms in each room are visually stunning and the subtle details in the tiles and fixtures are the perfect balance of plush and elegance. The soaring ceilings and full length drapes perfectly filter and reveal the morning light to create the airy and relaxed ambiance and you feel as though you have awoken in some distant city unbothered by the bustle of life. The Farmacy cafe offers a full menu of coffees and breakfast offerings to ready you for what ever your day holds.

Bakersfield is my hometown, but thanks to the Marine Corps, my husband and I have lived many places, and now that he's retired we've enjoyed traveling and dining in many places from coast to coast. While Bakersfield is not considered to be a vacation destination, I return when I can to visit friends, and The Padre made it feel more like a vacation. I loved the combination of a historic hotel that nicely captured the "flavor" of Bakersfield, which has been beautifully renovated. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with plenty of towels and all the amenities a person could ask for. All of our needs were met at a fair price, and their in-house restaurant and coffee shop were an excellent choice for a casual meal. The valet service was also on point. Well done!!!
